As part of the public program 2023, Ocean Space orgnises in collaboration with Castello Municipal Library two poetry meetings, conceived with Chiara Spadaro, to reflect on the changing landscape (marine and terrestrial) and ecosystems, together with poets and researchers.

For the first appointment we meet essayist, translator and poet Stefano Strazzabosco who will present, in conversation with Barbara Casavecchia, Filippomaria Pontani and Andrea Longega, readings from "Oikos. Poeti per il futuro" ("Oikos. Poets for the Future") , published by Mimesis in 2020.

"the poetic word is in its essence a word against the tide, because it questions us, because it becomes a new foothold to look at the world differently, to break our mistakes, to open up other perspectives. If today we talk about nature and the environment, about what is the oikos in which we live, poetry can help us."

F. Pontani, A. Camerotto

Part of the cycle “Waves of Words”, encompassing conversations with artists, researchers, and writers interweaving poetry, science, and situated ecology in collaboration with local institutions and national initiatives. Spoken words will become waves to drift with and carry our thoughts, while we consider climate and cultural change with diverse voices from the Mediterranean shores.

Ocean Space’s 2023 public program is kindly supported by Select Aperitivo and Venezia FC.
