TBA21–Academy warmly invites you to the opening of Territorial Agency: Oceans in Transformation on Thursday, August 27, 2020, at Ocean Space, Venice. The culmination of our latest long-term commission, this exhibition seeks to cast light on the rapidly changing Anthropocene ocean, examining the intersection between human activity and earth systems via intricate data renderings. In addressing how human and non-human needs coalesce and converge on the high seas, this project weaves together policy, science, and culture, bringing together the work of hundreds of scientists, research institutions, intergovernmental organizations, scholars, activists, policymakers, and artists.

The exhibition will inaugurate the second season at Ocean Space, TBA21–Academy's centre for catalysing ocean literacy, research and advocacy through the arts, striving to contribute to a gradual reawakening of Venetian cultural institutions.

After an extensive online program on Ocean Archive, we are excited to finally be opening the doors of Ocean Space to the public. However, we wish to do so in strict observance of safety regulations, proceeding with caution and kindly asking you to book in advance for the opening day of the exhibition.

Please note that masks covering your mouth and nose are mandatory throughout the premises of Ocean Space. Temperature checks will be performed at the door for your safety. All visitors will be required to sign a disclaimer on attending at their own risk.
